Du schönes Fischermädchen,
Treibe den Kahn an's Land;
Komm zu mir, setz dich nieder,
Wir kosen Hand in Hand.

Leg' an mein Herz dein Köpfchen,
Und fürchte dich nicht zu sehr,
Vertrau'st du dich doch sorglos
Täglich dem wilden Meer.

Mein Herz gleicht ganz dem Meere,
Hat Sturm und Ebb' und Fluth,
Und manche schöne Perle
In seiner Tiefe ruht.
Komm! Komm!
Du schönes Fischermädchen, komm, komm,
Wir kosen Hand in Hand.
Komm! Komm! Komm!

Du schönes Fischermädchen,
Siehst du den Abendstern?
O komm zur stillen Hütte,
Wer liebt ist einsam gern!

In deine Fesseln lege
Den trotzigen wilden Sinn,
Sanft wie die Rosenwalle
Lenk' ihn zum Frieden hin.

Da draussen auf dem Meere
Ist oft Getahr und Not,
Senk' in mein Herz den Anker
Von deinem Lebensboot.
Komm! Komm!
Du schönes Fischermädchen, komm, komm,
Wir kosen Hand in Hand.
Komm! Komm! Komm!

Jij, mooi, lief vissersmeisje,
Breng vlug de boot aan land;
Kom naar hier en ga toch zitten,
Wij kussen, hand in hand.

Leg aan mijn borst je hoofdje,
En wees maar niet al te bang;
De wilde zee vertrouw je
Daag’lijks toch uren lang!

Mijn hart is als dat water,
kent storm en eb en vloed;
en heel wat mooie parels
bewaart het diep en goed.

Jij, mooi, lief vissersmeisje,
Zie je de Avondster?
O, kom naar ’t stille hutje,
Wie mint houdt zich graag ver!

Leg nu toch maar aan banden
Je koppige, wilde aard,
Als rozen op de golven
Stuur zacht hem en bedaard.

Daarbuiten op het water
Is vaak gevaar en nood,
Laat in mijn hart het anker
Neer van je levensboot.
