Von Ida
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
  Der Morgen blüht;
  Der Osten glüht;
Es lächelt aus dem dünnen Flor
Die Sonne matt und krank hervor.
  Denn ach, mein Liebling flieht!

  Auf welcher Flur,
  Auf wessen Spur,
So fern von Iden wallst du itzt,
O du, der ganz mein Herz besitzt,
  Du Liebling der Natur?

  Vernimmst du auch
  Im Morgenhauch
Das Ach, das Idens Brust entächzt,
Das Sehnen, drinn ihr Herz zerlechzt,
  Im kühlen Morgenhauch?

  Was [ahnest]1 du,
  Der Idens Ruh
Und Idens Freuden mit sich nahm?
Ach, [ahnest]1 du wohl Idens Gram,
  Und flehst für Idens Ruh?

  O kehre um!
  Kehr' um, kehr' um!
Zu deiner Einsamtraurenden!
Zu deiner [Ahnungschaurenden]2!
  Mein Einziger, kehr' um!

Over Ida
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
De morgen bloeit,
Het oosten gloeit,
Het zonlicht dringt door 't dun gordijn
Van blaad'ren, mat en ziek, vol pijn.
Want, ach, mijn schat is weg!

Waarheen gegaan,
Waar achteraan?
Zo ver van Ida dwaal je rond,
Jij die mijn hart diep hebt gewond,
O, liev'ling der natuur!

Hoor je 't gerucht
In d' ochtendlucht,
Hoe Ida zucht en steunt zo zacht,
Hoe zij al hunkerend versmacht
In de1 koele ochtendlucht?

Wat dacht jij wel,
Jij die zo snel
Je liefje van haar vreugd ontdeed?
Ach, zag je niet hoe Ida leed
En wens je haar herstel?

O, keer toch om!
Keer om, keer om!
Naar haar die treurt en eenzaam is!
Naar haar die beeft en angstig is!
Mijn enige, keer om!
