Pilgers Morgenlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Morgennebel, Lila,
Hüllen deinen Turm um.
Soll ich ihn zum
Letztenmal nicht sehn!
Doch mir schweben
Tausend Bilder
Seliger Erinnerung
Heilig warm ums Herz.
Wie er so stand,
Zeuge meiner Wonne,
Als zum erstenmal
Du dem Fremdling
Ängstlich liebevoll
Begegnetest,
Und mit einemmal
Ewge Flammen
In die Seel' ihm warfst.
Zische, Nord,
Tausend-schlangen-züngig
Mir ums Haupt!
Beugen sollst du's nicht!
Beugen magst du
Kind'scher Zweige Haupt,
Von der Sonne
Muttergegenwart geschieden.

Allgegenwärt'ge Liebe!
Durchglühst mich,
Beutst dem Wetter die Stirn,
Gefahren die Brust,
Hast mir gegossen
Ins früh welkende Herz
Doppeltes Leben,
Freude, zu leben,
Und Mut!

Ochtendlied van de pelgrim
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Ochtendnevels, Lila,
Hangen om jouw toren.
Mag ik hem de
Laatste keer niet zien!
Maar mij zweven
Duizend beelden,
Zalige herinnering,
Heilig warm om ’t hart.
Hoe hij groots stond,
Mijn geluk aanschouwend,
Toen voor d’ eerste maal
Jij de vreemd’ling
Angstig liefdevol
Verwelkomde,
En heel onverhoeds
Eeuw’ge vlammen
In zijn ziel ontstak.
Sis maar, bries,
Met je slangentongen
Om mijn hoofd!
Buigen zul je ’t niet!
Buigen kun je
Bottend jeugdig hout,
Van de zon, het
Wakend moederoog, gescheiden.

Alom aanweez’ge liefde!
Je doorgloeit mij,
Biedt het noodweer het hoofd,
Gevaren de borst,
Hebt mij gegoten
In ’t eerst kwijnende hart
Dubbel rijk leven,
Vreugd’ om te leven,
En moed!
