Es ziehen die Wolken, Es wandern die Sterne, Es schweben die Lerchen In goldiger Ferne; An himmlischer Pforte, Beseligten Drang's, Erlauschen sie Worte Seraphischen Klang's. Die Lerche fliegt nieder Aus himmlischen Höhen, Und was sie gehöret, Und was sie gesehen, Das will sie verkünden Den Blumen im Thal, Den Wassern, den Winden, Mit lieblichem Schall. Die Blumen, die Winde, Die Wellen, sie flüstern, Erzählen's geschwinde Viel trauten Geschwistern: Der Mensch geht vorüber Und lauschet und glüht, Und saßt es in Worte, Das himmlische Lied.
