Confirmed with Deutscher Liederhort. Auswahl der vorzüglicheren Deutschen Volkslieder nach Wort und Weise aus der Vorzeit und Gegenwart gesammelt und erläutert von Ludwig Erk, Zweiter Band, Leipzig: Druck und Verlag von Breitkopf und Härtel, 1893, page 441. A note below the text indicates that this folk song from the mountains was collected by Prof. Baumstark and W. von Zuccalmaglio and first appeared in print in 1829 in their collection of folk songs, Bardale.
