1. Psalm Davids.
   Gott ist mein Hirt, mir wird nichts mangeln.
2. Er lagert mich auf grüne Weide;
   Er leitet mich an stillen Bächen:
3. Er labt mein schmachtendes Gemüth,
   Und führt mich auf gerechtem Steige,
   Zu seines Namens Ruhm. -
4. Und wall' ich auch im Todesschattenthale;
   So wall' ich ohne Furcht:
   Denn du begleitest mich.
   Dein Stab und deine Stütze
   Sind immerdar mein Trost.
5. Du richtest mir ein Freudenmahl
   Im Angesicht der Feinde zu:
   Du salbst mein Haupt mit Oele,
   Und schenkst mir volle Becher ein;
6. Mir folget Heil und Seligkeit
   In diesem Leben nach,
   Einst ruh' ich ewige Zeit,
   Dort in des Ew'gen Haus.

Hij geeft mij rust op groene weiden,
Hij leidt mij heen naar stille beken,
Hij laaft mijn smachtend dorre ziel,
Hij voert mij op de juiste paden,
Geeft roem zo aan zijn naam.
En moet ik ook door dood'lijk donk're dalen,
Toch ga ik zonder vrees,
Want gij beschermt mij zeer.
Uw staf en sterke stutstok
Zijn mij altijd door tot troost.
Gij richt voor mij een vreugdemaal
Voor 't oog van mijn belagers aan.
Gij zalft mijn hoofd met olie
En schenkt mij volle, volle bekers in;
Mij volgen heil en zaligheid
Mijn hele leven lang.
Eens vind ik eeuw'ge rust
Ginds bij de Eeuw'ge thuis.
