Abschied
(Sung text for setting by A. Walter)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT CHI DUT ENG ENG FRE IRI ITA
Abendlich schon rauscht der Wald
Aus den tiefen Gründen,
Droben wird der Herr nun bald
An die Sternlein zünden,
Wie so stille in den Schlünden,
Abendlich nur rauscht der Wald.

Alles geht zu seiner Ruh,
Wald und Welt versausen,
Schauernd hört der Wandrer zu,
Sehnt sich recht nach Hause,
Hier in Waldes grüner Klause
Herz, geh' endlich auch zur Ruh!

A sera già  sussurra il bosco
(Sung text translation for setting by A. Walter)
 See original
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
A sera già sussurra il bosco
fin dalle più profonde vallate,
mentre lassù il Signore si affretta
Ad accendere tutte le stelle.
Laggiù in fondo è dappertutto silenzio,
A sera solamente il bosco sussurra.

Ogni cosa volge al riposo.
Il bosco e il mondo stesso svaniscono,
il viandante ascolta e guarda,
preso da nostalgia di casa.
Qui, nella quieta solitudine silvestre,
anche tu, cuore, alla fine riposa.
