Frühlingsgedränge
 (Sung text for setting by C. Marek)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG ENG FRE HEB ITA
Frühlingskinder im bunten Gedränge,
Flatternde Blüten, duftende Hauche,
Schmachtende, jubelnde Liebesgesänge
Stürzen ans Herz mir aus jedem Strauche.
Frühlingskinder mein Herz umschwärmen,
Flüstern hinein mit schmeichelnden Worten,
Rufen hinein mit trunkenem Lärmen,
Rütteln an längst verschlossenen Pforten.
Frühlingskinder, mein Herz umringend,
was sucht ihr darin, was doch sucht ihr so dringend?
Hab' ich's verrathen euch jüngst im Traume,
Schlummernd unter dem Blüthenbaume?
Brachten euch Morgenwinde die Sage,
Daß ich im Herzen eingeschlossen
Euren lieblichen Spielgenossen,
Heimlich und selig -- ihr Bildnis trage?

Note for line 7, word 4: Lang has "trunkenen", which is likely a typo.

Tumult of spring
 (Sung text translation for setting by C. Marek)
 See original
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Children of spring in a colourful tumult,
Fluttering blossoms, scented breezes,
Languishing, rejoicing love songs
Dash themselves at my heart from out of every bush.
Children of spring swarm about my heart,
Whisper into it with flattering words,
Call into it with intoxicated clamouring,
Rattle at long-locked gates.
Children of spring, encircling my heart,
What do you seek therein, what then do you seek so urgently?
Did I recently disclose it to you in a dream,
While slumbering under the blossoming tree?
Did the morning winds bring you the tidings
That I have enshrined in my heart
Your lovely playmate,
That I secretly and blissfully carry her image there?

Translations of title(s):
"Frühlingsgedränge" = "Tumult of spring"
"Frühlingskinder" = "Children of spring"
"Frühlingskinder in buntem Gedränge" = "Children of spring in a colourful tumult"
