Ο μυλωνάς: Εκεί όπου μια πιστή καρδιά Μαραζώνει από αγάπη, Εκεί μαραίνονται τα κρίνα Σε κάθε παρτέρι· Τότε πρέπει στα σύννεφα μέσα Η πανσέληνος να πάει, Ώστε τα δάκρυά της Οι άνθρωποι να μην τα βλέπουν· Τότε τα αγγελάκια Κλείνουν τα μάτια τους Και κλαίνε με αναφιλητά και τραγουδούν Για να γαληνέψουν την ψυχή. Το ρυάκι: Και όποτε η αγάπη Ξεφεύγει από τον πόνο, Ένα αστεράκι, νεογέννητο, Λάμπει στον ουρανό· Τότε ανοίγουν τρία τριαντάφυλλα, Μισοκόκκινα και μισοάσπρα, Που δεν μαραίνονται ποτέ, Μέσα από αγκαθωτά κλαδιά. Και τα αγγελάκια Κόβουν τα φτερά τους Και κάθε πρωί Κατεβαίνουν στη γη.
