물방아꾼: 진실한 사랑이 헛되이 끝나면 꽃밭에선 백-합이 시들고. 보름달은 구름 속에 숨어 눈물조차 볼 수 없게 된다네. 천사들도 모두 두 눈을 감고 슬피 노래하리, 안식을 빌며. 시냇물: 사랑이 고통을 이겨내면 하늘엔 새로운 별이 빛나고 가시나무 끝엔 시들지 않을 붉고 흰 장미꽃 피어나리. 또 천사들은 모두 날개를 접고 아침마다 땅으로 내려오리. 물방아꾼: 아 냇물, 내 사랑아, 그 말 좋다만 아 냇물, 네가 알련, 사랑의 길? 아 저기, 저 밑에 안식 있네! 아 냇물, 내 사랑아, 노래해 다오.
