There be none of Beauty's daughters
  With a magic like thee;
And like music on the waters
  Is thy sweet voice to me:
When, as if its sound were causing
The charm'd ocean's pausing,
The waves lie still and gleaming,
And the lull'd winds seem dreaming:

And the midnight moon is weaving
  Her bright chain o'er the deep;
Whose breast is gently heaving
  As an infant's asleep:
So the spirit bows before thee,
To listen and adore thee;
With a full but soft emotion,
Like the swell of Summer's ocean.

Incanta come te!
Come musica sull'acqua, risuona
la tua voce per me!
Quando il mare si fa quieto
e sta in ascolto incantato,
e lievi si muovono le onde lucenti,
e come sognando dormono i venti.
 
Quando la luna un sentiero argentato
sopra i flutti distende,
il cui seno respira quieto
come un bambino che dorme:
Così in te il mio cuore annega,
e sta in ascolto, e ti adora,
e si ristora tutto per una emozione mite,
come la marea di una sera d'estate.
