Della notte verde che imbruna!
Bisbiglia l'erba sul prato,
alita l'ombra, frescura ti dona
e veglia, fedele, il tuo amato.
Dormi,abbandonati al sonno,
il bosco mormora piano,
ed io ti appartengo in eterno.

Tacete, canti nascosti,
lasciatela nel suo dolce riposo!
Gli uccelli, a stormi, ora ascoltano 
e i canti sonori si quietano.
Ed ora chiudi gli occhi amor mio,
nella luce 
che piano si oscura
a guardia resterò sempre io.
