E lo mio damo è tanto piccolino
Chè co' capelli mi spazza la casa.
Andò nell'orto a côrre un gelsomino,
Ebbe paura d'una gran lumaca.
E venne in casa, e si messe a sedere,
Passò una mosca e lo fece cadere.
E lu' si rizza, e andò alla finestra,
Passò un tafano e gli rompè la testa:
E maledisco le mosche e i tafani,
E chi s'innamorò de' maremmani,
E maledisco le mosche e i cugini,
E chi s'innamorò de' piccolini.

Da warf ihn eine Fliege übern Haufen;
Und als er hintrat an mein Fensterlein,
Stieß eine Bremse ihm den Schädel ein.
Verwünscht sei'n alle Fliegen, Schnaken, Bremsen
Und wer ein Schätzchen hat aus den Maremmen!
