Μέρες λαχτάρας,
Είστε κοντά;
Θα δουν λιακάδα
Δάση, βουνά;
Πλούσια κυλάνε
Οι ποταμοί.
Είν’ οι κοιλάδες;
Είν’ οι αγροί;
Νιότη γαλάζια
Θάλλει ψηλά!
Λίμνη με ψάρια,
Σμήνη χρυσά.
Φυλλοθροΐζουν
Δάσους πουλιά
Και τιτιβίζουν
Αγγελικά.

Κάτι σαλεύει,
Πάνω σκιρτά,
Μ’ άρωμα θέλγει,
Μέθη σκορπά.
Λίγο ξεδίνει
Μια άχνα δειλά,
Μα πάλι σβήνει
Στη φυλλωσιά.
Όμως στα στήθια
Ξαναγυρνά.
Μούσες, βοήθεια,
Πνίγει η χαρά.
Τι μου συνέβη,
Πέστε, αδελφές,
Η λατρεμένη
Φάνηκε χθες!
