Dottern sade till sin gamla moder:
"Får ej nu i höst mitt bröllop firas?"
Modern sade: "låt det bli till våren;
Våren, Dotter, passar bäst för bröllop;
Även fågeln bygger bo om våren."
Dottren sade: "Hvarför bli till våren,
Hvarför passar våren bäst för bröllop;
Även fågeln bygger bo om våren?
Hvarje årstid, goda moder, passar
Ju för den, som hvarje årstid, älskar."

La fille dit : « Pourquoi attendre jusqu'au printemps
Pourquoi le printemps est-il mieux pour les noces ;
Même l'oiseau construit son nid au printemps ?
Chaque saison, bonne mère, convient
À ceux qui à chaque saison s'aiment. »
