piangi più sommessamente, Filomela:
un’anima adorabile, pura più di un angelo,
riposa in questa tomba.
Pallidi e muti, sopra il bordo scuro,
stanno il padre e i figli,
per i quali il più bell’ornamento della vita
è scomparso così in fretta con lei.
E piangono vicino alla tomba,
ma le loro lacrime d’amore
si muteranno in una corona di perle
quando l’angelo li chiamerà.
