Si et pogués lloar en cançons, et cantaria la cançó més llarga. Sí, en tots els modes et cantaria sense mai cansar-me! Però el que sempre m’ha entristit és que, tothora, només en silenci et puc portar, estimada meva, al santuari del meu cor. I que tu, el que jo et dic en veu alta o t’elogio en un cant joiós, pensis que ho porto més profundament que tu, cor meu, al meu càlid pit. Aquest sofriment m’ha obligat a cantar aquesta petita cançó, però estic envaït d’una amarga recança que encara mai cap t’hagi arribat.
