Mein Herz ist die Quelle, die Leben Dir...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG

My heart is the well‑spring that gives...
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
My heart is the well-spring that gives you life,
That ever unfailingly, refreshingly offers you nourishment.
My blood is the dew that waters my little flower,
That quietly unfolds its little head in awakening.
The little hands stroke the sustenance-giving breast,
We gaze into each others' eyes, intoxicated with joy!
Then you smile delightfully and sigh and suck,
And do not know that you are fit for nothing, absolutely nothing!
You rascal! a single smile of yours,
It stands before me like a masterpiece of art!
You little imp! I do not find the most glorious flowers
As beautiful as a single dimple in your cheek!
And the magical sound of your voice even
Is sweet than the sound of a harp, than the music of the spheres!
My heart is the well-spring, my blood is the dew,
And you are my idol -- and know it for sure!
