Singe, mein Herz, heut ist deine Stunde!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG FRE
Singe, mein Herz, heut ist deine Stunde!
Morgen, da liegst du tot:
Sternen scheinen, du siehst sie nicht,
Vögel singen, du hörst sie nicht --
Singe, mein Herz, so lang deine Stunde loht,

Kein Schatten drückt, keine Sorge tut weh.

Singe, mein Herz, so lang deine Stunde loht,
Deine flüchtige Stunde.

Sing, my heart, today is your hour!
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Sing, my heart, today is your hour!
Tomorrow you shall lie dead:
Stars shall gleam, you shall not see them,
Birds sing, you shall not hear them --
Sing, my heart, as long as your hour blazes,
Your fleeting hour!

The sun laughs above the starry shimmering snow,
In a wreath, clouds rest distantly over the valley,
Everything is new, everything is ardour and radiance,
No shadow weighs upon you, no anxiety causes you pain.
It feels good to breathe, breathing is bliss,
Is prayer and song,
Breathe, soul, open yourself wide to the sun
Throughout your fleeting hour!

Sweet is life, sweet is bliss and pain,
Blissful every atomised flake in the wind,
Bliss-filled am I, I am the heart of creation,
Am the most beloved child of the earth and the sun
For one hour,
For one laughing hour,
Until the flake disperses in the wind.

Sing, my heart, today is your hour!
Tomorrow you shall lie dead:
Stars shall gleam, you shall not see them,
Birds sing, you shall not hear them --
Sing, my heart, as long as your hour blazes,
Your fleeting hour!
