Die Verlassene

Hör auf, mein armes Herz, so bang zu schlagen!
Er spottet deiner Leiden, deiner Klagen!
Er schloß durch Leichtsinn sich das Tor der Reue,
der Ungetreue!
 
2. Weil ich, o Falscher,dich so sehr geliebet,
Hast du dies Bubenstück an mir verübet.
Und doch kann ich,obschon er mich verlassen,
Nicht ganz ihn hassen.
 
3. Nicht einmal achtet er mich einer Lügen
Mehr wert, der Schnöde fleugt nach neuen Siegen,
Auf jeden Schritt zertritt er eine Tugend
Betörter Jugend.
 
4. Weh mir! O schonet ihn, ihr Rächerinnen!
Kehrt wider mich eu'r grimmiges Beginnen!
Dies Herz, das noch den Frevler kann vertreten,
Müßt ihr erst töten!

5. Zu schwaches Herz,so sind wir Mädchen alle,
Wir rennen willig in der Männer Falle.
Ich würde, wollt' er mich aufs neu belügen,
Mich gern betrügen.

6. Heran, Ihr all’! Heran in hellen Horden!
Verruchter, beb’, wir wollen dich ermorden!
Dies Herz, das du uns allen hast verheissen,
Heraus dir reissen!
 
7. Warum schufst du so weich uns,so gefällig,. 
So hart die Männer und so ungesellig? 
Natur,o lehre dies Geschlecht die Triebe 
Der treuen Liebe!

Kom, stop, mijn arme hart, je bange slagen!
Hij spot met jouw ellende, met jouw klagen!
Hij sloot lichtzinnig af de poort van ’t rouwen,
De ongetrouwe!
 
Daar ‘k, o bedrieger, jou zozeer beminde,
Was ‘k voor jouw schurkenstreek totaal een blinde,
En toch kan ik, hoewel door hem verlaten,
Niet echt hem haten.
 
Niet eens meer laat hij leugens achterwege
Voor mij; de smiecht vlucht naar een nieuwe zege,
Bij elke stap vertrapt hij vol verachting
Een jeugdverwachting.
 
Wee mij! Ontzie hem toch, o wraakgodinnen!
Laat tegen mij je woede maar beginnen!
Dit hart, dat nog kan pleiten voor die snode,
Moet je eerst doden!
 
Te zwak van hart, zo zijn wij meisjes allen,
Wij lopen gretig in de man zijn vallen.
Ik liet, als hij opnieuw mij zou beliegen,
Mij graag bedriegen.
 
Sta allen op! Sta op met felle woorden!
Laaghart’ge, beef, wij willen jou vermoorden!
Dat hart, dat zo ons allen deed verrukken,
Nu uit jou rukken!
 
Waarom schiep jij zo week ons, zo simplistisch,
Zo hard de mannen en zo egoïstisch?
Natuur, o weet toch dit geslacht te winnen
Voor trouw beminnen!
