Das hölzerne Husarenschwert Belustiget ihn itzt, Der Kreisel, und das Steckenpferd, Auf dem er herrisch sitzt. Que feliç és, a qui el vestit de minyó li penja encara de les espatlles! Mai parla malament dels temps dolents, i sempre està alegre i content. L’espasa de fusta dels hússars el diverteix encara, i també la baldufa i el cavallet de joguina en el que hi munta amb aire autoritari. I ell llança en l’aire blau la pilota amb estries de colors; sense adornar-se del perfum de les flors ni de l’alosa o el rossinyol. Res neguiteja, res en el món sencer, el seu rostre rialler, encara que la pilota caigui a l’aigua o se li trenqui l’espasa. Oh minyó, juga i corre tant com vulguis tot el llarg i sant dia, pel jardí i pels camps verds empaitant les papallones. Aviat suaràs, no sempre pas content, en una estreta i petita cambra, i del gruixut volum de Ciceró aprendràs el llatí emmusteït!
