Cry of revenge
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The Arab's camels walk beside the Jordan River,
Those who worship idols are kneeling upon the heights of Zion,
The ones who honour Baal are climbing Mount Sinai,
And there, oh God -- how can it be? there Thy thunder is silent?
Where Thy finger etched script into the stone,--
Where we saw Thy shadow --
Thy majesty in a fiery garment --
Thou, whom no living person sees [without perishing!]1
Oh let Thy radiance reveal itself in lightning!
Break away the spear in the hands of the barbarians!
How long is Thy land to be desecrated by the scorn of the enemies?
How long is Thy sanctuary to stand empty, oh God?
