1  Quare fremuerunt gentes, 
   et populi meditati sunt inania?
2  Astiterunt reges terræ, 
   et principes convenerunt in unum
   adversus Dominum, et adversus christum ejus.
3  Dirumpamus vincula eorum, 
   et projiciamus a nobis jugum ipsorum.
4  Qui habitat in cælis irridebit eos, 
   et Dominus subsannabit eos.
5  Tunc loquetur ad eos in ira sua, 
   et in furore suo conturbabit eos.
6  Ego autem constitutus sum rex ab eo super Sion, 
   montem sanctum ejus,prædicans præceptum ejus.
7  Dominus dixit ad me: 
   Filius meus es tu; 
   ego hodie genui te.
8  Postula a me, et dabo tibi gentes hæreditatem tuam,
   et possessionem tuam terminos terræ.
9  Reges eos in virga ferrea, 
   et tamquam vas figuli confringes eos.
10 Et nunc, reges, intelligite; 
   erudimini, qui judicatis terram.
11 Servite Domino in timore, 
   et exsultate ei cum tremore.
12 Apprehendite disciplinam, nequando irascatur Dominus,
   et pereatis de via justa.
13 Cum exarserit in brevi ira ejus,

Salm 2
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the Latin 
Per què s’indignen els gentils,
i la gent parla tan vanament?
Els reis de la terra es rebel•len,
i els nobles deliberen entre ells
contra el Senyor i la seva consagració:
trenquem llurs lligams i llencem,
les cordes lluny de nosaltres!

Però aquell que viu al cel, se’n riu d’ells,
i el Senyor en fa escarni.
Al seu dia, enfurismat, parlarà amb ells
i, amb la seva còlera, els atemorirà.

Però jo he assentat el meu rei
a Sió, la meva muntanya sagrada.
Vull predicar de la mateixa manera
que el Senyor m’ensenyà: tu ets
el meu fill, avui t’he engendrat;
demana-m’ho i et donaré els gentils
com herència i els confins de la terra
en propietat. Amb un ceptre de ferro
els has de colpejar, com pots de terrissa
els has de trencar.

Així doncs, oh reis, sigueu assenyats
i deixeu-vos alliçonar, vosaltres
jutges de la terra.
Serviu el Senyor amb temença i
alegreu-vos amb tremolor!
Beseu el Fill, perquè no s’indigni,
i moriu en el camí,
car la seva còlera ben aviat s’inflamarà.
Però benaventurats tots els que en ell confien.

Venerat sigui el Pare, el Fill
i l’Esperit Sant,
com era en el principi, ara, i sempre,
per tota l’eternitat.
