Der Schmetterling
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE IRI ITA
Wie soll ich nicht tanzen?
Es macht keine Mühe,
Und reizende Farben
Schimmern hier im Grünen.
Immer schöner glänzen
Meine bunten Flügel,
Immer süßer hauchen
Alle kleinen Blüthen.
Ich nasche die Blüthen;
Ihr könnt sie nicht hüten.

Wie groß ist die Freude,
Sey's spät oder frühe,
Leichtsinnig zu schweben
Ueber Thal und Hügel.
Wenn der Abend säuselt,
Seht ihr Wolken glühen;
Wenn die Lüfte golden,
Scheint die Wiese grüner.
Ich nasche die Blüthen,
Ihr könnt sie nicht hüten.

An Féileacán
Language: Irish (Gaelic)  after the German (Deutsch)
Cén fáth nach ndamhsóinn?
Ag roinnt leis níl dua,
Is dathanna geala
Nach féidir a lua.
Álainn iad ag lonrú -
Féach ar mo chuid sciathán,
Milis a n-análú
Gach aon bhláth is bláithín
Is blaisim den bhláithín
Gan cead uaibh, a bhráithre.

Is iontach an lúcháir
Go moch is go déanach
Ar snámh dom go héadrom
Thar na cnoic is réileáin.
Siosarnach tráthnóna
Néalta mar ór leáite
Is an t-aer ag lonrú,
Cluainte: glas a ndealramh.
Is blaisim den bhláithín
Gan cead uaibh, a bhráithre.
