I did not forget, next to the town, our white house, small but peaceful, its plaster Pomona and old Venus in a meager grove hiding their exposed limbs — and the sun, the evening, glowing and magnificent, which, behind the window that shattered the light, the large, open view to the curious sky seemed to consider our long and silent dinners and shined its lovely candle reflections over the humble tablecloth and the serge curtains.
