Te paard ging ik vol hartstocht dwars door 't groene woud waarin ik hoorde zingen drie vogeltjes fraai gebouwd. Maar 't zijn niet drie vogeltjes het zijn drie meisjes fijn wordt één niet gauw het mijne dan doet mij 't leven pijn. Katrientje heet de één de tweede Marileen en naamloos loopt de derde al met de jager heen. Hij neemt haar blanke handen en voert haar dan gezwind tot waar de bomen wijken en hij een hutje vindt.
