by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799 - 1837)

Pod vecher, osen'ju nenastnoj
Language: Russian (Русский)
Pod vecher, osen'ju nenastnoj,
V pustynnykh deva shla mestakh
I tajnyj plod ljubvi neschastnoj
Derzhala v trepetnykh rukakh.
Vsjo bylo tikho - les i gory,
Vsjo spalo v sumrake nochnom;
Ona vnimatel'nye vzory
Vodila s uzhasom krugom.

I na nevinnom sem tvoren'e,
Vzdokhnuv, ostanovila ikh...
,,Ty spish', ditja, mojo muchen'e,
Ne znajesh' gorestej moikh
Otkrojesh' ochi i toskuja
Ty k grudi ne pril'nesh' mojej,
Ne vstretish' zavtra poceluja
Neschastnoj materi [tvojej]1.``

Jejo manit' naprasno budesh'!
Mne vehnyj styd vina moja -
Menja naveki ty zabudesh'...
No ne zabudu ja tebja;
Dadut pokrov tebe chuzhije
I skazhu: ,,Ty dlja nas chuzhoj!``
Ty sprosish': ,,Gde moi rodnye?``
I ne najdjosh' sem'i rodnoj!

Neschastnyj budesh' grustnoj dumoj
Tomit'sja mezh drugikh detej!
I do konca s dushoj ugrjumoj
Vzirat' na laski materej;
Povsjudu strannik odinokoj
Vsegda sud'bu svoju kljanja,
Uslyshish' ty uprek zhestokoj...
Prosti, prosti togda menja...

Ty spish' - pozvol' [sebja]2, neschastnyj,
Prizhat' k grudi v poslednij raz.
Prostupok moj, tvoj rok uzhasnyj
K stradan'ju osuzhdajut nas.
Poka leta ne otognali
Nevinnoj radosti tvojej -
Spi, milyj! gor'kije pechali
Ne tronut detstva tikhikh dnej!

No vdrug za roshchej osvetila
Vblizi jej khizhinu luna...
Bledna, trepeshchushcha, unyla,
K dverjam priblizhilas' ona,
Sklonilas', tikho polozhila
Mladenca na porog chuzhoj,
So strakhom ochi otvratila
I skrylas' v temnote nochnoj.
