by Avetik Sahak Isahakyan (1875 - 1957)
Translation by Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Blok (1880 - 1921)

Izgnannik
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the Armenian (հայերեն)
Mne grezitsja: vecher miren i tikh,
Nad domom steletsja tonkij dym,
Chut' zybljutsja vetvi rodimykh iv,
Sverchok v shcheli treshchit, nevidim.

U ognja sidit moja staraja mat',
Tikhon'ko s rebjonkom moim grustit.
Sladko-sladko, spokojno dremlet ditja,
I mat' moja tikho molitvu tvorit.

Pust' prezhde vsekh pomozhet gospod'
Vsem dal'nim strannikam, vsem bol'nym,
Pust' posle vsekh pomozhet gospod' tebe,
Moj bednyj izgnannik, moj syn!

Nad mirnym domom struitsja dym,
Mat' nad synom moim molitvu tvorit,
Sverchok v shcheli treshchit, nevidim,
Rodimaja iva jedva shelestit.
