Wie glücklich ist der Morgenwind! Er schwingt sich auf sein Ambra-Roß Und jagt zu dir und fleugt zu dir So leicht, so rasch, wie ein Geschoß. Mich aber hält gebändiget Ein unerbittlich Mißgeschick, Wiewohl mein ewig quellend Aug' Weltmeere schon des Grams vergoß. O pfui der Schmach, pfui über mich! Ich lebe noch und athme noch. So mache bittre Stunde schon Mich ohne dich der Tag verdroß. Allein getrost! Es stocken mir Die Pulse schon, die schmählichen, Und bald bin ich der ewiglich In Nacht Gehüllten Schlafgenoß. Doch träumt gewiss auch dann Hafis Von deiner Wange Rose noch; Aufsteigen zum Beweise wird Aus seiner Gruft ein Rosensproß.
