Pensàvem que era sensat i convenient? Aleshores, quan ho vàrem fer, per què aquesta acció ens va espaordir com un crim?” Tu ests la meva pàtria, el goig i el repòs de la qual, fins el cel i la terra n’estan desproveïts. Només les teves severes paraules em priven d’aquest dolç recés. “Ai, ens coneixem poc, car un déu regna en nosaltres.” Tots els ocellets aquí, amb llurs melodies, no es gaubarien pas sense el dictat de l’amor, i tampoc s’alegrarien al temps de primavera.
