On es pot trobar encara caça que no sigui en terres alemanyes? Els francesos han desforestat en excés el seu país, no respectant res, la caça ha estat exterminada, disparen als ocells cantaires, els capsigranys! A Anglaterra ja no hi resta res que no sigui el pollastre a casa; les fàbriques espeteguen i copegen, les màquines martellegen i treuen fum, cap animal salvatge pot suportar això. Ens manlleven les guineus per encalçar-les amb gossos a través de bardisses i camps: és un divertiment per als cavallers, la caça estaria al seu darrer estadi si Alemanya no la preservés. La cacera seriosa i estricte, només la coneixem nosaltres, viure als boscos i als camps, immersos en el teixit del nostre origen, això fa florir la cacera alemanya. Així doncs, beveu les copes plenes: visca la cacera alemanya! Aquest plaer que fa filar els somnis i l’art que fa pensar les accions que tant ens agraden! Fa exercitar l’ànima, fa exercitar les mans, nodreix la frescor, la força i el coratge: quan cal protegir el regne, ja som experts en les armes, amunt! Ardida nissaga de caçadors!
