Det er liksom Isan' um Hausten,
dei er ikkje litande paa.

Nei Kniven du fulla maa bruka
um du vil faa det te gro,
og stande kald og sjaa paa 
det renn ein Straum utav Blo.

Auf der zweiten Saite IV

Man sagt wohl, dass Zukunft 
alle die Wunden heilen kann!
Mir dünkt veraltet die Lehre,
ich glaube ja längst nicht mehr dran!

Ich glaub nicht mehr an die Lehre
bin krank am Herzen ich, 
da mindert sich nicht, 
da mehret der Schmerz mit den Jahren sich.

Man meint wohl oft, es sei besser,
und hofft, die Wunde heilt, 
doch drunter sie bleibet offen 
und drin der Schmerz verweilt!

Wohl wölbt sich drüber ein Hätchen,
das reisst, wenn man rührt daran.
Es gleichet dem Eise im Herbste,
dem trauen man nimmer kann.

Nein brauchen du solltest das Messer,
willst du sie heilen dir gut
und kalten Blickes sehen 
in Strömen rinnen das Blut!
