Wir wollen uns im Tanze drehn,
die Zöpfe fliegen, die Kleider wehn.
Schon steht der Wald im ersten Grün,
die Primeln und die Veilchen blühn.
Der junge Lenz zog wieder ein;
drum laßt uns singen und fröhlich sein!

We shall twirl about in the dance,
our braids flying, our garments waving.
The woods are already garbed in their first green,
the primroses and the violets are blooming.
Young springtime has returned once more;
therefore, let us sing and be merry!
