Или вот что: Расскажи мне лучше про царя с царицей,
Что за морем жили в терему богатом.
Ещё царь всё на ногу хромал,
Как споткнётся, так гриб вырастет,
У царицы то всё насморк был,
Как чихнёт, стекла в дребезги!
Знаешь, нянюшка:
Ты про буку то уж не рассказывай! Бог с ним, с букой!
Расскажи мне, няня, ты, смешную-то!

O erzähl mir, Njanjuschka, o erzähl das Märchen mir, 
weißt du, das vom Währwolf, weißt du noch!
Wie er um das Haus im Dunkeln schlich,
wie die Kinder er zum Walde trug und sie fraß,
daß keine Knöchelchen übrig blieb,
und wie laut die Kinder schrie'n und jammerten...
Njanjuschka! nicht wahr, dafür zur Strafe fraß er sie, 
weil sie folgsam nicht ihrer Njanjuschka, 
nicht gehorchten ihren Eltern auch; 
dafür fraß der Wolf sie, Njanjuschka?

Oder weißt du: lieber noch erzähl mir von dem Königspaare,
das am Meer in einem schönen Schlosse wohnte.
Er war lahm und hinkte immer so,
wo er stolperte, wuchs ein Pilz sogleich!
Und die Frau, die hatte Schnupfen stets;
wenn sie nieste, platzten alle Scheiben.
Weißt du, Njanjuschka: von dem Wolfe
das besser schon nicht erzähl! Laß im Wald ihn!
und erzähl mir lieber das! das Komische!
