Die Schnur, die Perl' an Perle
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Sanskrit (संस्कृतम्)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG ENG FRE
Die Schnur, die Perl' an Perle
Um deinen Hals gereihte,
Wie wiegt sie sich so fröhlich
Auf deiner schönen Brust!
Mit Seel' und Sinn begabet,
Mit Seligkeit berauschet
Sie, diese Götterlust.

Was müssen wir erst fühlen,
In welchen Herzen schlagen,
So heiße Menschenherzen,
Wofern es uns gestattet,
Uns traulich anzuschmiegen
An eine solche Brust?

Le collier, perle après perle
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Le collier, perle après perle
Autour de ton cou enfile,
Comme il se balance heureusement
Sur ton joli sein !
Doué d âme et d'esprit,
Il est enivré de béatitude,
De ce plaisir divin.

Que devons-nous alors ressentir,
Nous en qui un cœur bat,
Un cœur humain si brûlant,
Quand il nous est permis,
De nous serrer intimement
Contre une telle poitrine ?
