  donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum.
2 Virgam virtutis tuæ emittet Dominus ex Sion:
  dominare in medio inimicorum tuorum.
3 Tecum principium in die virtutis tuæ
  in splendoribus sanctorum:
  ex utero, ante luciferum, genui te.
4 Juravit Dominus, et non pœnitebit eum:
  Tu es sacerdos in æternum secundum ordinem Melchisedech.
5 Dominus a dextris tuis;
  confregit in die iræ suæ reges.
6 Judicabit in nationibus, implebit ruinas;
  conquassabit capita in terra multorum.

  De Heer sprak tot mijn Heer: 
  Zit aan mijn rechterhand,
  Totdat ik uw vijanden neerzet als een bankje voor uw voeten.
2 De Heer zal de tuchtroede van uw macht laten uitgaan van Sion: 
  heers te midden van uw vijanden.
3 Bij u ligt de oorsprong op de dag van uw macht, 
  in schittering van onkreukbaren:
  Uit de moederschoot, vóór de morgenster, heb ik u voortgebracht.
4 De Heer heeft gezworen, en het zal hem niet spijten:
  Gij zijt priester naar de wijze van Melchisedech.
5 De Heer is aan uw rechterhand;
  Op de dag van zijn toorn heeft hij koningen vermorzeld.
6 Hij zal tussen de landen oordelen, hij zal puinhopen aanrichten;
  Hij zal de hoofden van velen op aarde schokken.
7 Uit een beek zal hij onderweg drinken; 
  zodoende zal hij het hoofd opheffen.
