Là, devant la sainte image de Marie Elle s'agenouille et prie. Le ciel a empli son cœur Et tout plaisir terrestre s'en est enfui : « Ô vierge pure ! Permets-moi juste D'être à toi seule ! » Peu après le son assourdi des cloches Réveille l'orante. La jeune fille avance dans la nef ; Elle ne sait ce qu'elle porte ; Sur sa tête Nimbée de l'éclat du ciel, C'est une couronne de lis. Tous les gens regardent avec étonnement La lumière de cette couronne dans ses cheveux, Mais la jeune fille ne va pas loin, Elle se place devant le grand autel : « Consacrez-moi nonne, Moi pauvre fille !
