Lied des Gärtners
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Laßt euch pflücken, laßt euch pflücken,
Lichte Blümlein, meine Lust!
Denn ihr sollet lieblich schmücken
Meiner schönsten Fürstin Brust.

Glühet purpurn nach der Süßen,
Äugelt blau empor zu ihr!
Ach! ihr müßt es endlich büßen,
Sinken ohne Glanz und Zier.

Einst auch glühten meine Wangen,
Meine Augen hin nach ihr:
Nun ist alles Rot vergangen,
Aller blaue Schimmer mir.

Confirmed with Gedichte von Ludwig Uhland, erster Band, Verlag der Cotta'schen Buchhandlung, Stuttgart, 1898, page 373.

Chanson du jardinier
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Laissez-vous cueillir, laissez-vous cueillir,
Lumineuses fleurettes, ma volupté !
Car vous devez orner gracieusement
La poitrine de ma plus belle princesse.

Jetez votre éclat pourpre vers la douce,
Levez vos yeux bleus vers elle !
Hélas ! Vous devrez finalement le payer,
Vous affaisser sans éclat ni attraits.

Naguère brillaient aussi mes joues,
Et mes yeux vers elle :
Aujourd'hui tout le rouge a disparu,
Et tout éclat bleu.
