Y de púrpura y oro la matiza;
La llama en derredor del tronco ardiente

die leichten Wellen, dass sie spielend sich kräuseln;
und die Abendsonn’ küsst die Wolke im Westen,

Die feurigen Strahlen umzingeln die Stämme 
wie Flammen, die suchen, die andern zu küssen;
