Tretet ein, hoher Krieger,
Der sein Herz mir ergab!
Legt den purpurnen Mantel
Und die Goldsporen ab!

Spannt das Roß in den Pflug,
Meinem Vater zum Gruß!
Die Schabrack mit dem Wappen
Gibt nen Teppich meinem Fuß!

Euer Schwertgriff muß lassen
Für mich Gold und Stein,
Und die blitzende Klinge
Wird ein Schüreisen sein.

Und die schneeweiße Feder
Auf dem blutroten Hut
Ist zu 'nem kühlenden Wedel
In der Sommerzeit gut.

Und der Marschalk muß lernen,
Wie man Weizenbrot backt,
Wie man Wurst und Gefüllsel
Um die Weihnachtszeit hackt!

Nun befehlt eure Seele
Dem heiligen Christ!
Euer Leib ist verkauft,
Wo kein Erlösen mehr ist!

que m’heu donat el vostre cor!
Traieu-vos el mantell porpra
i els esperons d’or!

Enganxeu el cavall a l’arada,
com salutació per al meu pare!
Doneu-me la vostra gualdrapa amb el blasó
com a catifa per als meus peus!

El pom de la vostra espasa ha de deixar
per a mi el seu or i les seves pedres precioses,
i la brillant fulla
serà una furga.

I la ploma, blanca com la neu,
del vostre capell, roig com la sang,
serà un refrescant ventall
bo per al temps d’estiu.

I el mariscal haurà d’aprendre
a coure el pa de blat
i a trinxar la botifarra i el farciment
per al temps de Nadal!

Ara encomaneu la vostra ànima
al Sagrat Crist!
El vostre cos està venut
on ja no hi cap redempció!
