"Oh,noia, ànima meva!
Vols ser la meva estimada?" --

"No diguis ximpleries, noi!
Res d'això pot passar mai,
em transformaria abans
en una gerra daurada a la taverna,
que ser la teva estimada!" --

"I jo sóc el jove taverner,
i així ets meva igualment!" —

"No diguis ximpleries, noi!
Res d'això pot passar mai;
em transformaria abans
en una tassa al cafè,
que ser la teva estimada!" —

"I jo sóc el cafeter,
i així ets meva igualment!"

"No diguis ximpleries, noi!
Res d'això pot passar mai,
em transformaria abans
en una guatlla pels camps,
que ser la teva estimada!" --

"I jo sóc el valent caçador,
i així ets meva igualment!" --

"No diguis ximpleries, noi!
Res d'això pot passar mai,
més voldria, al fons del mar,
convertir-me en un peix,
que ser la teva estimada!" —

"I jo sóc una fina xarxa,
i, tot i així, ets meva.
Sia d'una manera o d'una altra,
ets meva allà on vagis;
sia aquí o sia allà,
ets meva a tot arreu!"
