Drei Lieder und Gesänge mit Pianoforte , opus 4

by Max Joseph Beer (1851 - 1908)

a. Wie des Mondes Abbild zittert  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie des Mondes Abbild zittert
In den wilden Meereswogen,
Und er selber still und sicher
Wandelt an dem Himmelsbogen:

Also wandelst du, Geliebte,
Still und sicher, und es zittert
Nur dein Abbild mir im Herzen,
Weil mein eig'nes Herz erschüttert.

Text Authorship:

  • by Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856), no title, appears in Neue Gedichte, in Neuer Frühling, no. 23

b. All' mein Lieben
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
O wäre doch all mein Lieben
In ein einzig Lied gebannt,
Es würde mit jubelndem Schallen
Erklingen durch das Land!

Es würde Wonne bringen
Bis an die Sterne weit,
Und die Sterne sie würden
Vergehn vor Seligkeit.

c. Seliger Tod
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Gestorben war ich
Vor Liebeswonne;
Begraben lag ich
In ihren Armen;
erweckt ward ich
Von ihren Küßen;
Den Himmel sah ich
In ihren Augen.

Text Authorship:

  • by Johann Ludwig Uhland (1787 - 1862), "Seliger Tod", appears in Lieder
