Vier Lieder für 1 Singstimme mit Pianofortebegleitung , opus 1

by Franciscus (or Franz) Wilhelmus Bouman (1866 - 1896)

1. An die Rose  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ewig trägt im Mutterschoße,
Süße Königin der Flur,
Dich und mich die stille, große,
Allbelebende Natur.

Röschen! unser Schmuck veraltet,
Sturm entblättert dich und mich,
Doch der ew'ge Keim entfaltet
Bald zu neuer Blüthe sich!

Text Authorship:

  • by Friedrich Hölderlin (1770 - 1843), "An eine Rose", appears in Gedichte 1784-1800

4. Am Flusse  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Verfließet, vielgeliebte Lieder,
Zum Meere der Vergessenheit!
Kein [Knabe]1 sing' entzückt euch wieder,
Kein [Mädchen]2 in der Blütenzeit.

Ihr sanget nur [von]3 meiner Lieben;
Nun spricht sie meiner Treue Hohn.
Ihr wart ins Wasser eingeschrieben;
So fließt denn auch mit ihm davon.

Text Authorship:

  • by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832), "Am Flusse", written 1768-9, first published 1799
