Naar zeeën van vergetelheid!
Geen knaap moet blij nog jullie zingen,
Geen meisje in haar bloesemtijd.
 
Mijn lief slechts heb je lof gegeven;
Nu wordt mijn trouw door haar gehoond.
Je was in water neergeschreven,
Dus ook daarmee maar weggestroomd!
