In Ritzen, in Falten, Wo der Feu'rwurm nicht liegt, In Höhlen, in Spalten, Wo die Fliege nicht kriecht, Wo Mücken nicht fliegen Und schlüpfen hinweg, Kommt Liebe, sie wird siegen Und finden den Weg. Sprecht, Amor sei nimmer Zu fürchten, das Kind! Lacht über ihn immer, Als Flüchtling, als blind, Und schließt ihn durch Riegel Vom Taglicht hinweg: Durch Schlösser und Siegel Find't Liebe den Weg. 1. El camino del amor 1ª parte

¡Sobre las montañas, sobre las olas, bajo las tumbas, bajo las fuentes, sobre mareas y océanos por las sendas del abismo, sobre las rocas, sobre las cumbres el amor encontrará su camino! Por grietas y oquedades, donde no hay ni luciérnagas, por agujeros y resquicios en los que no se cuelan las moscas, donde los mosquitos no vuelan ni salen, venga el amor, que triunfará y encontrará su camino. Tú sigue diciendo que el niño Cupido nunca es de temer. Sigue riéndote de él por fugitivo y por ciego, y enciérralo bajo siete llaves lejos de la luz del día: que a través de cerraduras y sellos el amor encontrará su camino. Cuando el fénix y el águila se humillan entre sí, cuando el dragón, cuando el tigre dócilmente se inclinan, la leona deja escapar a la presa, venga el amor, que triunfará y encontrará su camino.

2. El camino del amor 2ª parte

¿El nudo gordiano que el amor ató puede romperlo, puede deshacerlo mano mortal? ¿A qué te afanas? ¿Qué pretendes con tus astutos propósitos? Hagas lo que hagas, el amor encuentra su camino. Y aunque fuera encerrado y aunque fuera ignorado, su nombre sellado y jamás pronunciado, vientos compasivos, os deslizaríais hacia mí y me traeríais nuevas y lo traeríais hasta mí. Si estuvieras lejos, más allá de las montañas, si estuvieras lejos, más allá del mar, yo vagaría por las montañas, yo nadaría por el mar. Si fueras, amor mío, una golondrina y descendieras junto al arroyo, yo, amor mío, sería una golondrina y descendería tras de ti.

3. Los mares

Todos los vientos duermen en el espejo de las mareas; las frescas sombras del atardecer arropan a los cansados. La luna cuelga un velo sobre su rostro, flota en sueños crepusculares sobre las aguas. ¡Todo, todo está en silencio sobre el ancho mar! Tan sólo mi corazón no quiere nunca ir a descansar. En las mareas del amor va a la deriva de aquí para allá, donde las tormentas no cejan hasta que la navecilla se hunde.
