Il giorno si mostra gelido e chiaro, Potesse il sole splendere tiepido! Fosse uno Zefiro il vento del nord! Profumasse di fiori l'alito della nebbia! Potesse il sole splendere tiepido! Riposa la valle nel suo manto solenne, quando si desterà alla primavera? Il lago è gelato, tornassero a rincorrersi le onde! Sono muti gli uccelli, tornassero a cantare allegri!
