Hier lieg' ich auf dem Frühlingshügel:
Die Wolke wird mein Flügel,
Ein Vogel fliegt mir voraus.
Ach, sag' mir, all-einzige Liebe,
Wo du bleibst, daß ich bei dir bliebe,
Doch du und die Lüfte, ihr habt kein Haus.

Es dringt der Sonne goldner Kuß

le nuage devient mes ailes,
un oiseau vole devant moi.
Ah, seul et unique amour, dis-moi
où tu habites, que je reste près de toi !
Pourtant toi et les vents n'avez pas de maison.

Je vois voyager les nuages, et le fleuve,
le baiser d'or du soleil me pénètre
jusqu'au fond de mon sang ;
mes yeux, merveilleusement enivrés
font comme s'ils s'endormaient,
seules encore mon oreille écoute le son des abeilles.
Je pense à ceci et pense à cela,
je me languis et ne sais pas bien de quoi :
C'est à moitié volupté, à moitié plaintes :
ô dis-moi, mon cœur,
quels souvenirs tisses-tu
dans les rameaux verts et dorés du crépuscule ?
