O Jungfrau, sieh der Jungfrau Sorgen, O Mutter, hör ein bittend Kind! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! Unbefleckt! Wenn wir auf diesen Felsen sinken Zum Schlaf, und uns dein Schutz bedeckt, Wird weich der harte Fels uns dünken. Du lächelst, Rosendüfte wehen In dieser dumpfen Felsenkluft. O Mutter, höre Kindes Flehen, O Jungfrau, eine Jungfrau ruft! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! Reine Magd! Der Erde und der Luft Dämonen, Von deines Auges Huld verjagt, Sie können hier nicht bei uns wohnen. Ave Maria! Vergine dolce, Esaudisci la preghiera di una vergine, Da questa rupe aspra e selvaggia Giunga fino a te la mia invocazione. Fino al mattino dormiremo sicuri, per quanto crudeli possano essere gli uomini. O Vergine,considera gli affanni di una vergine, O Madre, ascolta una figlia che ti invoca! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! Immacolata! Quando ci chiniamo su questa rupe per dormire, e la Tua protezione ci avvolge la dura roccia diventa per noi morbida. Tu sorridi e un profumo di rosa sovrasta l'umido tanfo di questo crepaccio. O Madre, ascolta una figlia che ti supplica O Vergine, una vergine ti chiama! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! Vergine pura! I demoni della terra e dell'aria, respinti dalla grazia del Tuo sguardo, non possono restare fra noi.
