Wenn ich vom Liebchen ritt bei Nacht,
Das Herz voll neuer Lieder.

La forêt n'est plus qui doucement
Descendait bruissante de la montagne,
Lorsque je quittais en courant ma bien-aimée,
Le cœur empli de nouvelles chansons.
