Ночевала тучка золотая
Language: Russian (Русский)
Our translations:  CHI DUT
Ночевала тучка золотая
На груди утёса-великана;
Утром в путь она умчалась рано,
По лазури весело играя.

Но остался влажный след в морщине
Старого утёса. Одиноко
Он стоит; задумался глубоко,
И тихонько плачет он в пустыне...

Der Felsen
(Sung text for setting by A. Rubinstein)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Russian (Русский)
Eine Wolke ließ beim Glanz der Sterne
Nachts von hoher Felsenbrust sich nieder,
Als der Morgen anbrach, zog sie wieder
Fröhlich fürbaß in die blaue Ferne.

Doch es blieb die feuchte Spur
Eingefurcht dem alten Fersen,
Schauet einsam auf die Flur
Trüb versenkt in tiefes Schweigen,
Und ein Thränenstrom entquillt
Seiner Stirne...
